The best restaurants in the world:
The World’s Best Restaurants awards this week named El Celler de Can Roca in
Girona, the world’s best restaurants. Commiserations to repeat winner Noma
in Copenhagen, which this year now be content with being the world’s second
best restaurant.
The
list is compiled from the votes of over 900 international
restaurant-industry experts, with an interpretation of what constitutes
‘best’ left to their discretion. Although fine-dining restaurants make up
the majority of the list, the panel is welcome to include any eatery that
provides a suitably impressive dining experience. Their choices combine to
form the aforementioned list, the contents of which are always the subject
of intense debate, not to mention a surge in bookings for venues newly added
to the countdown.
Based in the cities they write about, Telegraph Travel’s destination experts
have also compiled detailed lists of the best restaurants in their
jurisdictions. We round up some of their favourites here, along with
restaurant recommendations from some of the world’s most celebrated chefs.
